In this article on Travel Back in Time, let us Discover why life before technology was simpler and happier. A nostalgic journey into the good old days — and what today’s generation can learn about how to Travel back to those simpler times.

On one pleasant and rainy noon, after completing my household chores, I was sitting alone in my lovely home, relishing my post-breakfast tea. I enjoyed the rhythmic fall of rain drops on my living room balcony roof, which felt like a concert by a renowned musician. When the mind is peaceful, everything around us seems beautiful.

Loneliness is not always a bane. Being alone gives us an opportunity to think, develop creative ideas, and cherish memorable moments from the past.

As I reflect on my past, it makes me wish we could Travel back to those innocent moments filled with joy and simplicity. The below image may make you nostalgic to your past nd generational stories explained to us by our grand parents. This is the power of travel back.

The article is about the topic Travel Back in Time: Life Without Technological Chaos. In this image how the past lives on from generations to generations and helpful for the next generation as we travel back.

Travel Back to Simpler Times

Even when the body relaxes, the mind never stops functioning. My mind was no exception; it traveled in a time machine into the past to my childhood days. The memories of my childhood brought a smile to my face.

These reflections often lead me to ponder how we can all learn to Travel back to a more balanced life.

Those were the days with no great responsibilities or targets. Our little minds did not feel the need to analyze every aspect of life. Under the shelter and guidance of parents and grandparents, we led a simple yet satisfactory life.

No school bus carried us to school, and the honking of a school bus horn at 8 A.M. did not disturb the meditation and prayers of our grandparents. Walking to school with friends while carrying a bag on our back and a lunch bag in our hand never felt burdensome. Deep conversations with friends distracted us from the weight of our bags.

Walking a kilometre or two was not a hectic task; it was a joyful journey.

It was an era with no smartphones, email, internet, Facebook, Twitter, Google, or Chat GPT. Communication among friends was face to face. I eagerly awaited meeting my friends the next day at school to share interesting incidents from our lives.

Important messages from relatives were received through telegrams, while normal messages were delivered via inland letters and postcards.

In our fast-paced world, we should not forget to think about how to Travel back to those essential values.

In discussing our childhood, we often wish we could Travel back to the days filled with wonder and learning.

In discussing our childhood, we often wish we could Travel back to the days filled with wonder and learning.

Our valuable source of information were parents, grandparents, educated uncles and aunts. Are you wondering why I excluded teachers? Obviously, we were hesitant to approach teachers for any doubt arising in our mind.

To give my children the best, I often think of how I can Travel back to a time of simplicity and connection.

There is a certain magic in those days that makes me wish to Travel back.

Nostalgic memories of Travel back in Time

I remember the days when I had to write an essay on any given topic, I would visit my uncle who resided in my neighbourhood with a book and pen to collect information.  I would also collect information from parents and grandparents and compile all the information and write an essay from my own perspective, thoughts and style. Teachers were not worried about AI content in the essay written by students.  In their view if the essay was remarkably good, they would interrogate the student by enquiring “Did you write this essay by yourself or someone else wrote for you”.  We had to convince the teacher that it was our original writing.

The moment I was back from school I would run to the kitchen to discover the delicious snacks prepared by my mother. We ate home-made snacks only.  We never visited restaurants or pizza huts.  I would share the whole day’s events with my mother while having snacks. I never missed even a small incident.   Those were the happiest days and mother’s had patience and time to listen to their children.  They were always accessible to their children and would resolve the problems of their children with patience and their proficient skills.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could Travel back and relive those enchanting bedtime stories with our grandparents?

In their lives, school buses pick them up from home and drop them off at school, depriving them of physical activity. After school, they attend coaching classes to secure admission in engineering and medical colleges.

Bed time stories by grandparents were akin to personality development courses by expert and learned professionals. Those stories helped in the personality development of the child.

One night my grandma was narrating me a story of a princess who wore a golden lace work frock and was protected by the guards of their kingdom. I would travel in an imaginary world with the princess when my grandma narrated the story.

As we grow older, the thought of how to Travel back to those moments becomes a comforting notion.

Our compact sweet home had no guest rooms. When my aunts and uncles visited us during summer vacation my sister and me would happily vacate our room to accommodate and provide a comfortable stay to our uncle and aunt.  Though our daily routine and privacy were disrupted by the arrival of guests, we happily accepted the change and adapted ourselves to the new circumstance. We would happily sleep in the living room with our cousins enjoying their company.  These petty things may seem like small adjustments, but those little adjustments were great teachers who mentally prepared us for encountering life challenges in later part of the life.

Sometimes, I dream of how wonderful it would be to Travel back to those carefree days with laughter and friendships.

At night, after dinner, sleeping on terrace and viewing the glowing moon and counting the stars were a thrilling experience.

In moments of reflection, the desire to Travel back to simpler days grows stronger.

Sipping my tea and reminiscing about my childhood, I feel pity for my children, who miss many experiences we enjoyed. Today’s children live in nuclear families with working parents and miss personal attention. They depend on Google for simple information, believing it to be perfect and accurate.

In their lives, school buses pick them up from home and drop them off at school, depriving them of physical activity. After school, they attend coaching classes to secure admission in engineering and medical colleges.

Moreover, they are addicted to smartphones from a young age, rarely meeting their grandparents, usually only saying hello through video calls. They are compelled to attend personality development courses and prefer to stay alone in their rooms with smartphones, consuming their free time.

Yet, amidst the chaos of modern life, I find myself yearning to Travel back to the peaceful times of my childhood.

My children often ask me about my childhood, and I tell them how I wish to Travel back to those joyful experiences.

Neither working parents have time for their children nor the children feel the need to spend time with their parents. Parents expect their children to be toppers in academics and extra-curricular activities and children want only financial benefits from their parents. Parents send children to the day care centres and children ensure that their parents stay comfortably in an old age home. Children are addicted to junk foods and working mother hardly has any time to prepare food at home.

In the present condition both parents and children are leading a stressful and busy life.   Change in life is inevitable. A new invention has both positive and negative effect on people.    Identifying the problem is crucial to find a solution to the problem.

With determination and small lifestyle changes I decided to recreate my childhood lifestyle to my children and provide them those benefits which were given to me by my parents.

Neither working parents have time for their children nor the children feel the need to spend time with their parents. Parents expect their children to be toppers in academics and extra-curricular activities and children want only financial benefits from their parents.

  1.  I decided to take up a five-day working job.
  2. I requested my husband to plan a small one-day trip on week end with children every month.
  3. Every night before going to sleep I started spending some quality time with my children.
  4. Every month I purchased few books and began collecting books for my children’s library.
  5. I taught them sustainable development.  That is to use the available technology to our advantage with minimum damage.  I taught them to depend on books for knowledge rather than using electronic devices.
  6. I taught to them to read books smartly and prepare self-notes while reading.
  7. I paid them money for monthly expenses and requested them to maintain a dairy and note the payments made by them and ensure that they spend their pocket money judiciously and wisely. I guided them to prioritise their needs and never increased their pocket money.
  8. I replaced the junk food with traditional and my child hood snack recipes.
  9. I counselled my children to take up the courses of their choices and interest. The job of our choice will seem effortless.
  10. I encouraged my children to share all their feelings with me without fear and hesitation.  Developing confidence in children that “I am always with you at all times” is extremely important.  A fearless man achieve success effortlessly.
  11. I involved children in festival celebration arrangements and gave each one of them independent responsibility.
  12. I always tell them “I trust you”.
  13. I request them to help me in kitchen work to develop a feeling of belongingness and delegate responsibility.

Children always try to follow what they see in their daily life.  Hence it is duty of parents to follow the right path and encourage their children to do the same.  Even the small mistakes of the children should be corrected immediately.  It is the duty of parents to provide a peaceful atmosphere at home.

There can be no better teacher than mother to develop the personality of a child.  Professional trainers may be expert in their field but a mother can understand the psychology of her child.  She is the aware of the shortcomings of her child and know in which particular aspect her child needs guidance.  Parents work hard and earn money for the welfare of their children.  But no one can take of a child as parents.  Rather than earning money to hire a professional to guide our children, we parents can guide them ourselves by spending a little amount of quality time with them. We need to teach the children to accept failures and the harsh realities of life.

Children should be trained to adapt themselves to changing circumstances and situations.  Life is a complicated journey of unexpected twists and turns.  A person who takes up the expedition of life without expectations and is ready to adapt himself to any kind of situation is sure to lead a happy life. Leading a happy life is worthy than having a successful life.  Success may not always ensure happiness.  Success and happiness are two independent concepts.  A person who is aware of the art of living can find happiness all around him.

These lessons from the past encourage us to think about how we can Travel back to a more fulfilling life.

In my dreams, I can Travel back and relive those cherished memories filled with laughter and love.
